bryanzilla: (He's the perfect father)

age switch [early May]

It's been a bit of an afternoon.

Moving house is a stressful enough process its own, never mind while still dealing with not being who he's supposed to be and a cranky baby to boot. He can't blame Sawyer for acting out, though. If Bryan had to eat what the boy had choked down, he'd probably throw a tantrum, too. There were like two vegetables and no dessert to make up for it at the end and that just wasn't right. It likely didn't help that he was due for a nap, if what Bryan's managed to make of his schedule over the past few days is anything to go by. Or maybe being one year old doesn't mean he doesn't get it, that he knows that there's something very wrong with Bryan, and it just all came to a head over lunch.

And then lunch somehow wound up all over everything.

Bryan's gotten all of the remnants of the vegetable medley out of his hair and most of it off of his clothes, wiping down the highchair and floor next. Harvey's helping, lapping away at some pasta here and there, oblivious to the fact that he's wearing some of it on his head.

It's been days now. Nearly a week and still no change; he's still a twenty-six year old househusband of Darrow. Neither him nor David has said it out loud, but he's sure they've both thought it multiple times a day since that first morning: What if this is permanent?

Maybe David's just as afraid as he is of the possibility that saying it out loud will make it true.
